Anchorage Man Convicted of Sexual Assault

February 26, 2014

On February 26, 2014, 46 year-old Adam Kasgnoc of Anchorage was convicted by an Anchorage jury of sexually assaulting his then 20 year old daughter in his Spenard apartment in Anchorage. The jury also found him guilty of incest.

In the early morning hours of August 21, 2012, Kasgnoc invited his daughter to spend the night at his apartment after she had been drinking alcohol. His daughter fell asleep on Kasgnoc’s bed but awoke to find the defendant had stripped her of her clothes and sexually assaulted her. She pushed her father off of her, got dressed, and fled from the apartment. She went to a friend’s house where she called police.

Kasgnoc had been previously convicted of attempted sexual abuse of a minor daughter in 2000 in Nome. Kasgnoc also has three prior assault convictions, including a felony assault.

Superior Court Judge Michael Spaan scheduled Kasgnoc’s sentencing for July 11, 2014 in Anchorage. Based on his history of prior convictions, Kasgnoc faces a sentence range of at least 20 to 35 years in prison.
