Anchorage Man Indicted for June Crime Spree

40 year old Travis Felder was indicted yesterday for sexually and physically assaulting a woman, burglarizing an Anchorage home, and assaulting a woman in the home on June 19, 2014. Felder was arrested by the Anchorage Police on June 19. His bail has been set at $1 million.

Felder was indicted for sexual assault in the first degree, attempted sexual assault in the second degree, assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, coercion, and burglary. He faces a sentence of up to 99 years under Alaska’s sentencing laws if convicted. Felder will be arraigned in Anchorage Superior Court on August 1, 2014.

The indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
