Anchorage Man Convicted of Attempted Sexual Assault

November 25, 2014

On Monday, November 24, following a two week trial, an Anchorage jury convicted 38 year old Michael Davis, Jr. of Attempted Sexual Assault in the Second Degree for an incident that occurred in August 2012.

The evidence at trial showed that Davis forcibly attempted to engage in sexual acts by pulling on the victim’s arm several times and shoving her hand into his pants. Davis also tried to get her to come to his house to engage in sex.

The jury deliberated over the course of two days. The jury acquitted Davis of one count of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, but found him guilty of Attempted Sexual Assault in the Second Degree. He will be sentenced on May 7, 2015, before Senior Judge Larry Card, and faces a sentence of 15 to 25 years.
