Anchorage Couple Indicted by the Office of Special Prosecutions for Operating Sex Trafficking Enterprise
March 13, 2015
Troy Edward Williams and Heidi Ross were indicted yesterday by the Grand Jury based on allegations that they have been operating a prostitution enterprise in Anchorage. The allegations stemmed from a long-running investigation by the Special Crimes Investigation Unit of the Alaska Bureau of Investigation. The indictment also alleges that Williams and Ross induced or caused individuals to engage in prostitution through the use of force.
Williams faces a potential sentencing range of 20 to 35 years based on the seriousness of the charges and his prior criminal history. Ross faces a presumptive sentencing range of at least 10 to 25 years. The Grand Jury indictment is only an allegation and both Ross and Williams remain innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Both Williams and Ross remain at large, and a warrant has issued for their arrest. Individuals with knowledge of their whereabouts, or any of their alleged conduct, should contact the Special Crimes Investigation Unit of the Alaska Bureau of Investigation at (907) 269-5611.
