Press Release

Anchorage Man Indicted for Attempted Sexual Assault

July 20, 2015

On July 16, 2015, 30 year old Anchorage resident Christopher Mosely was indicted for allegedly sexually abusing two young girls in Anchorage on June 15, 2015. The girls’ grandmother reported the incident to the Anchorage Police. The police took the children to Alaska Cares for forensic interviews and examinations. Mosely was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of attempted sexual abuse of a minor abuse.

If convicted, Mosely faces a sentence of 15 to 30 years in prison for sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree and 12 to 20 years of attempted sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Sentencing is based on the judge’s view of the seriousness of the crime and the offender’s criminal history, if any.

The indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent.  The State must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Anchorage Police Department believes that Mosely may have victimized or attempted to victimize other children. If you believe you have information about Mosely contacting children inappropriately, please call the Anchorage Police Department at 786-8900.
