Anchorage Man Indicted for Sexual Abuse of Family Members

Today, 28 year old Billy Ray Lang was indicted for sexually abusing two minor family members in 2013 and 2014 in Anchorage. Lang was indicted on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree and two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Lang is expected to be arraigned in Anchorage Superior Court on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
The indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent. The State must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. If convicted, Lang faces a sentence of 25 to 35 years in prison on each count of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree and a sentence of five to 15 years in prison for each count of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.
