Press Release

Anchorage Man Indicted for Sexually Abusing Minor at Boys and Girls Club

October 12, 2016

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) On Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 41 year old Jeremy Ogle was indicted by the Anchorage grand jury for sexually abusing an eight year old boy. Ogle was indicted on a single charge of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, a class B felony.

On July 26, 2016, several juveniles reported to the Anchorage Police that a man had exposed himself near the Boys and Girls Club on Muldoon Road. The Anchorage Police Department Crimes against Children Unit investigated the reports and determined that the suspect was Ogle.

Ogle faces a sentencing range of 20 to 35 years in prison if convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Ogle is expected to be arraigned in Superior Court in Anchorage on Friday, October 14, 2016.

Ogle is being held on $10,000 cash or corporate appearance bond and a $2000 cash performance bond. He cannot be released from custody unless the court approves a third party custodian.

The charge in the indictment is only an allegation and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
