Tuluksak Teacher Charged in Nine Count Indictment Alleging Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography

(Bethel, AK) As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation and the Alaska State Troopers Violent Offenders Unit in Bethel, Alaska, Tuluksak resident John Paul Donald Douglas was indicted today by the Bethel Grand Jury and charged with nine counts related to the possession and distribution of child pornography. Douglas is alleged to have used peer-to-peer file-sharing software to possess and download videos involving prepubescent female children engaged in sex acts.
Douglas was a seventh grade teacher at the Yupiit School District’s Tuluksak School.
Douglas faces a potential sentence of two to 99 years on each count should he be convicted. Douglas is currently at large and a warrant has issued for his arrest.
