Duwaine Price and Browne Willard III Indicted For 1995 Anchorage Homicide

December 21, 2017

(Anchorage, AK) On December 20, 2017, 49 year old Duwaine Price and 44 year old Browne Willard III both of Juneau were indicted for the 1995 Murder of Jerry Dillivan. The grand jury indicted Price and Willard on one count each of murder in the second degree.

On November 21, 1995, at approximately 7:22 a.m., the Anchorage Police Department responded to a 911 call from the Texaco station on Muldoon Road in Anchorage. The 911 caller reported that she came to work and found a young man dead behind the Texaco station. Investigation revealed the victim, 25 year old Jerry Dillivan had been beaten to death. The homicide investigation went cold for many years until a Crime Stoppers tip and a subsequent DNA match helped solve the case.

Price and Willard face a potential sentence of up to 99 years in prison for murder in the second degree. A defendant’s sentence is determined by the judge who must consider the circumstances of the offense, the impact on the victim and the community, and the potential for rehabilitation of the defendant. The charges in the indictment are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Price and Willard are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Price and Willard are in the custody of the Department of Corrections since their arrest last night in Juneau by JPD SWAT. Their bail was previously set by the Anchorage District Court at $250,000 cash appearance, $250,000 cash performance and a court approved third party custodian.
